Everything is BIG in Texas and this event should not disappoint, from the start Houston to the finish in Arlington, TX at AT&T Stadium. This event will visit some new destinations, featuring visits to scenic College Station and Georgetown, TX. Healing Heroes from the Center for the Intrepid, Ft. Bliss, and Ft. Hood are also expected to participate this iconic ride.

The event will feature a kick-off celebration in Houston. The rides will be limited to 200 participants with a minimum $3,000 fee. Your $75 registration fee is applied to you total fee. All healing heroes ride for free. There is an active duty Military or VA employee discount of 50%. The Participant riders will receive a Ride 2 Recovery jersey, socks, and T-shirt. The fee will also include hotel housing, limited rider support, luggage transportation (70lbs max), daily route guides, marked course, rest stops, snacks, meals. There may also be nighttime entertainment on selected evenings.

This ride is rated Category "D" (not that difficult)

Invitational criteria may be based on one or more of the following:

1. Category (difficulty) of the ride

2. Participant's ability to successfully complete the ride

3. Participant's past history on R2R Challenges

4. Participation in Project Hero or Strava

5. Fundraising

ONE DAY RIDE Ride 2 Recovery One Day Ride - Texas Challenge Challenge March 22 - 29, 2014 - If you cannot join us for the whole ride, but would like to join us for ANY One Day during the tour.


$75 - Standard One Day Ride: includes event t-shirt, mechanical support, hydration / snacks

$200 - DELUXE Rider package: includes event t-shirt, mechanical support, hydration/snacks, and a "goodie bag" with a water bottle, pair of R2R socks, and limited edition R2R event jersey

$450 - OVERNIGHT Deluxe Rider Package (subject to availability): includes event t-shirt, mechanical support, hydration / snacks, "goodie bag" with water bottle, pair of R2R socks, and limited edition R2R jersey.  Also includes Hotel stay at host hotel (DOUBLE OCCUPANCY) the night before the ride.  Dinner is also included with priority access to all nightly events.

$600 - OVERNIGHT Deluxe Rider Package with Transportation (subject to availability):  same as above, and after dinner, transportation will be provided back to the ride start.

The Honor Rides Series raises awareness and is the funding arm for Ride 2 Recovery and gives the public the opportunity to ride with healing heroes and enlisted military on a non-competitive, fun ride. Close to 20 Honor Rides will take place throughout the year, with varying distances from 10 to 100 miles. All funds raised through the Honor Ride Series support Project Hero programs throughout the US.

Support Project Hero

Ride 2 Recovery’s Project HERO (Healing Exercise Rehabilitation Opportunity) Provides training and support for community based programs. Begun in November 2010 at Bethesda Naval Medical Center (now Walter Reed National Military Medical Center), Project HERO has proven the effectiveness of group riding in the rehabilitation and recovery of injured servicemembers.
