Rocky Mountain Challenge Event Information and Registration
Ride Overview
July 31 - Aug. 5, 2010 The ride begins at the Cheyenne Days Rodeo. The participants will head south along the foothills of the rocky mountains. With an route that incorporates some of the best cycling roads in the US. Many areas in the route have been used in such famous races as Coors Classic, Red Zinger Classic, and the World Championships. The ride concludes with a visit to the Garden of the Gods before a grand finish at Ft. Carson.
The rides will be limited to 200 participants with a minimum $3000 donation. Your $75 registration fee is applied to your fundraising goal. All injured veterans ride for free. There is an active duty Military or VA employee discount. The riders will receive a Ride 2 Recovery jersey, socks, and T-shirt. The donation will also include hotel housing, limited rider support, luggage transportation (70lbs max), daily route guides, marked course, rest stops, snacks, meals. There may also be nighttime entertainment on selected evenings.

Saturday, July 31 Day One: |
READY…SET…PEDAL!! All participants will leave from the Fronteir Days Rodeo Parade and head south to Ft. Collins. Should be a scenic ride with the Rocky Mountains on your right. |
Sunday, Aug. 1 Day Two: |
Ft. Collins to Estes Park
The ride takes you from the home of Colorado State University into the Rocky Mountains and Estes Park. You will ride thru the Roosevelt National Forest on Big Thompson Canyon road. The ride is only 48 miles but the view is priceless. Estes Park was a stop many times on the Famous Coors Classic bike race of the 1980's

Monday, Aug. 2 Day Three: |
Estes Park to Boulder The 50 mile ride thru the Rocky Mountains will take you on breathtaking vistas and a great descent into Boulder. Some would say Boulder if the heartbeat of cycling in Colorado. |
Tuesday, Aug. 3 Day Four: |
Boulder to Denver This will be a chance to experieince a section of the world famous Morgal Bismark circuit made famous in the movie American Flyers and the DCoors Classic. Many VIP's are expected to join the riders for the ride into Denver. The Coors Brewery will host the lunch stop today and the USO has a special evening planned for all of the riders. |
Wednesday, Aug. 4 Day Five: |
Denver to Air Force Academy The rider will leave the mile high city and ride thru the Pike National Forest and see Monument and Castle Rock. The ride will finish after a visit to the Air Force Acedemy, host of the 1986 World Cycling Championships and the Inagural Warrior Games.

Thursday, Aug. 5 Day Six: |
Air Force Academy to Ft. Carson
A fitting end to the ride as you will ride thru the Garden of the Gods. Oone of the great natural wonders in the US. A final tribute from the troops at Ft,. Carson will greet you as we celebrate at Manheart Field.
