Participating health clubs nationwide will donate their indoor cycling studios for two one-hour cycling classes and riders from all over the country will collect donations from friends and family to sponsor their ride on the event day. Spinning Nation Facility Challenge

For this year’s event, we’ve created the “Facility Challenge” to inspire facilities to team up with their members and raise money in support of the brave men and women from their own community, who have served in our armed forces. Facilities that raise $10,000 or more will get the opportunity to allocate up to 20 Spinner® Pros to a military base or military rehab center of their choice!

  • How:

    • First, facilities must register as a Spinning Nation facility. Click here
    • Starting in October 2012, riders can register to participate in the 2012 event at the registered facility of their choice.
    ·         Participants raise money through donations from friends, family, coworkers, etc. Donations can be made by participants and non-participating donors two ways:
    1. Online at www.spinningnation.org.
    2. By check. Please mail checks to Ride 2 Recovery, ATTN: Spinning Nation, 23679 Calabasas Rd. #420, Calabasas, CA 91302

NOTE: Donors should put the name of the sponsored rider on the “notes” section of checks.

    • The amount of money raised by each registered participant at every registered Spinning Nation facility will be added up to get a facility total.
    • Deadline for Ride 2 Recovery to receive all donations on December 3, 2012 at 11:59PM.
    • When a facility reaches $10,000, John Wordin, President of Ride 2 Recovery, will personally call the manager of the facility to inform/congratulate them.
    • Winning facilities will choose a military base / rehab center to donate bikes to from a list provided by Ride 2 Recovery after the 2012 event.
    • Facility challenge winners will be recognized on the Spinning Nation and Spinning websites and will be given a special prize.

When: The Challenge starts now! The Challenge runs through the end of the Spinning Nation event on 2012. All donations must be received by R2R by Dec. 3 2012 at 11:59PM.

     Where: Fitness facilities nationwide

Why: To raise money in support of the brave men and women from their own community, who have served in our armed forces.

“When we donated the first Spinning Centers to the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland and the Veteran’s Administration Hospital in Los Angeles, we were immediately taken by the tremendous struggle that so many men and women in the armed forces face in recovering from physical and mental trauma,” says CEO and founder of Mad Dogg Athletics, John Baudhuin. “Seeing the program in action has really opened our eyes to the need for programs like Spinning to help these determined and courageous individuals recover from their injuries. When I first met John Wordin from Ride 2 Recovery, it was amazing how aligned we were in our mission to help wounded veterans. Spinning Nation is a perfect event to help benefit such a charity.”

“We are grateful for the support of everyone participating in the upcoming Spinning Nation 2012,” says John Wordin, Executive Director of Ride 2 Recovery. “The Ride 2 Recovery program and its partners like Spinning, United Healthcare, and the USO help bring support to our injured veterans.”
